Red Cowpeas Roast / വൻപയർ ഉലർത്ത് To a mud pot (pan of your choice) add 4 cups of Red Cowpeas / വൻപയർ (soaked overnight ) Add 1 cup of water Add 3/4 tbsp of red chilli powder and 3/4 tbsp of salt Mix well Cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes on medium flame Open the lid and all water should be dried up. Check if the peas are cooked well Heat a cast iron pan Add 4 tbsp of oil and spread it evenly Add crushed shallots ( 6 nos) and saute until it turns pink Add crushed garlic cloves (4 nos) and dry red chillies ( 5 nos) . Saute them until the raw smell goes off. Add curry leaves and saute well Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and saute well Now add the cooked peas to the mixture and saute well for 2-3 minutes Finally add crushed pepper (1 tbsp) and mix well Red Cowpeas Roast / വൻപയർ ഉലർത്ത് is ready !!
