POHA (South Indian breakfast recipe with subtitles!)

Today we are making quick, healthy and light breakfast poha. Poha ingredients:

– Poha, 1 cup
– Chopped onion, 1 cup
– Chopped tomato, 1 cup
– Roasted peanut, 1 tbsp
– Roasted cashew nut, 1 tbsp
– Green chili
– Curry leaves, 5
– Coriander leaves, chopped
– Lemon, ½
– Oil, 1 tbsp – Coriander powder, ½ tsp
– Cumin seed, ¼ tsp
– Mustard seed, ¼ tsp
– Salt
– Turmeric powder ⅛ tsp
– Jeera powder ½ tsp
– Asafoetida, 1 pinch First clean and wash the poha gently and keep aside for 10 minutes. Make sure that the water is completely drained from poha. Heat the oil in the pan. When the oil is hot, then add mustard seeds. When the seeds start splattering, add cumin seeds and curry leaves – and asafoetida and green chili. Then add chopped onion and sauté for 2 minutes. Then add chopped tomato and sauté for 2 minutes. Add roasted peanut and roasted cashew nut and mix well. Then add turmeric powder, jeera powder, coriander powder and salt – and mix well, cooking for 1-2 minutes. Check the poha grain by pressing it – if it gets crushed easily then it will be soft enough. Next add poha. Mix well and cook for 1 minute. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Then turn off the heat. Poha is ready to eat. Enjoy your meal!
